It was guest judge, Nicole Scherzinger, who suggested that Harry, Niall, Zayn, Liam and Louis should be put together as a group at the X Factor bootcamp. She is a former member of..which band?

Explanation

In 2010, Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne, Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson auditioned as solo candidates for the seventh series of British television reality singing competition The X Factor. They all failed to progress as individuals, but they were put together to form a five-piece boy band and qualified for the "Groups" category. Styles' father first suggested "Status Single" but they all did not agree. Styles then came up with the name "One Direction".
