The Dead Sea is the world's lowest lying sea and is located in Asia (the Middle East) between Israel and Jordan. The sea has a salt content of around 31.5%, which is around 9 times more than the Mediterranean. The Dead Sea is around 420 metres below sea level and is the world's lowest lying point.
