The American company Duracell is the world's leading producer of batteries. The company was founded in the 1930s and is headquartered in Connecticut. The name Duracell was only introduced in 1964, however, as a portmanteau for "durable cell". Duracell is known for its commercials featuring a pink rabbit, who just goes on and on and on. Since 2005, the company has been part of the Procter & Gamble family.
