She has played a lot of very different roles in e.g. Elizabeth (1998), The Gift (2000), as the elfin queen Galadriel in "Lord of the Rings" (2001-03), as Katharine Hepburn in Martin Scorcese's "The Aviator" (2005, Oscar) and as one of six incarnations of Bob Dylan in Todd Haynes "I'm Not There" (2007). Cate Blanchett got a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2008.
