Karel Gott represented Austria with the song "Tausend Fenster" which came 13th. Born in 1939 in Pilsen in the then region of Bohemia-Moravia, he moved to Prague at the age of 6. He has been awarded the price for best Czech singer 36 times at the annual award ceremony The Golden/Czech Nightingale. He has sold over 30 million albums and was one of the first multi-millionaires in socialist Czechoslovakia.
