The Andes
Explanation
The Andes is a mountain-range which consists of a continual range of highlands along the western coast of South America. The range is about 7,000 kms long and up to 160 kms wide. Large parts of the range are around 4,000 metres high. The highest peak in the Andes is Aconcagua in Argentina, which is 6,962 metres high.
